When I visited Cali, Colombia last summer I had the honor of meeting the incredible Valerie and Macu. Valerie is a Black trans woman. Macu is a Black self described marica/non binary person. I interviewed them and put together a documentary. The sound files were lost forever and its put together very crudely. But even then part of said interview ended up premiering at Twitter’s Afrolatinx Film Night this past February. Very grateful to Val and Macu and to Twitter for the space to let them tell their stories. Here are some photos from the event and the video.
